The California company allows its employees to donate accrued paid time off to other employees, and will soon launch an emergency fund supported by employee purchases of the company’s products.

  • After 60 days of employment, full-time employees and their dependents are eligible for healthcare coverage, and Bear Humboldt pays a percentage of premium costs.
  • The company also provides employees with voluntary dental coverage and voluntary vision coverage, each costing about $11 per month.
  • Employees can contribute to a CalSavers Roth IRA retirement plan from their paychecks.

  • Bear Humboldt makes sure all employees follow sustainable practices and strive to reduce their own carbon footprints. Also, the company hopes to add solar power to its operations.
  • Employees can donate accrued paid time off to other employees.
  • Bear Humboldt is creating an employee emergency fund in memory of one of its employees. In the next couple months, the company plans to launch the fund, allowing employees in crisis to seek financial help. It will be funded through a payment matching program via employee purchases of Bear Humboldt’s consumer-packaged goods products at local dispensaries.
  • Bear Humboldt created a community outreach program called Project Humboldt Thrive, through which it matches farmer donations to local non-profit organizations. While employees are not currently involved, the company plans to involve them in community outreach.
